The camp will<br />also include drills, exercises and tournament play, match strategy<br />sessions and match play breakdowns, and individual documented<br />feedback from Coach Glenn.<br /><br />The cost is $140 per camper and includes lunch. He will enter school in January and make his Bulldog debut in the SEC Indoor tourney in Atlanta Jan. 15-18.<br /><br />Incidentally, Seal's coach at Baylor was Philip Johnson, a star on Georgia's 1985 and 1987 NCAA championship teams and a native of Dalton, not far from Chattanooga.<br /><br />Bo Seal will be Georgia's second player with the nickname of "Bo," following in the footsteps of native Athenian, Boukedes "Bo" Hodges, a four-time All-American (2001-04).<br /><br />Five former Baylor Prep players have lettered at Georgia: Comer Hobbs, 1961-62; Martin Kilpatrick, 1967-70; Tony Ortiz, 1968; David Dick, 1973-76 (captain); and Wesley Cash, 1976-79 (captain).<br /><br />Seal is a Chattanooga native and this past summer defeated Drake Bernstein - the No. 5 singles player on Georgia's team this past season - in the Tennessee Valley Tournament in Chattanooga.<br /><br />Next week, Seal will play the No. 1 singles position for the Southern Junior Davis Cup team in a sectional tournament at Champagne, Ill., leading up to the finals the following week at Kalamazoo, Mich.<br /><br />Georgia assistant coach Will Glenn is in his second year as coach of the Southern Junior Davis Cup team.<br /><br />"I'm looking forward to coaching Seal the next two weeks," Glenn said Tuesday. There were many campers that showed great improvement in their game, especially with their volleys.<br /><br />The guys also got a crack at beating the counselors at 3 on 3 tennis and believe it or not, they won a few and earned the chance to celebrate by messing with the counselors.<br /><br />Tonight we ate dinner together at the dorm before heading out to the movies where most of the guys selected Transformers and some went to see The Proposal. We worked a lot on our transition game - coming to the net with approach shots. <br /><br />We played the team tournament - Georgia v. Bulldog. Team Bulldog was able to pull off a narrow victory in the end. Each player fought well and exhibited great skills they have developed this week. <br /><br />Tonight we met up to play Capture the Flag where an epic battle ensured. They guys were dragging a bit because they stayed up late hanging out at the dorms but they geared up as soon as we got going with tennis.<br /><br />As the rain started, we went inside to the Georgia players' lounge and watched a video on doubles movements and positioning featuring some of the UGA players. Then we moved to the indoor courts and worked on doubles strategies and point play. The guys were able to use what they learned in the first and second round of the doubles tournament that we played tonight - one day early than originally scheduled because the weather left the practice football fields too wet to play Capture the Flag - we'll save that for tomorrow!<br /><br />A highlight of the day for the campers was spending some time with College Tennis Legend Dan Magill known for his tenure as a sports reporter, sports information director, coach and curator of the Dan Magill ITA Collegiate Hall of Fame. After college, I traveled to New York, then Australia to coach tennis and travel to other parts of the world. When I returned to Athens, I started grad school and shortly after was hired as the Assistant Coach of UGA Men's Tennis. In 2007, I completed my Master in Education with a focus on Organizational Development and Leadership. During the three years I've coached at Georgia, our team has reached the NCAA finals each year, winning in 2007 and 2008.
